Technical Coordinator

A high end, design led house builder located in Northamptonshire is recruiting within their technical department. The person they appoint will join as a Technical Coordinator on a full time, permanent basis.

This position would suit a qualified Architectural professional who is relatively local to their office in Northamptonshire. Their housing developments are situated along the M1 corridor and South Midlands including the following counties; Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire, Leicestershire, Warwickshire, Northamptonshire, Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire.

As a Technical Coordinator, you will be responsible for running multiple projects at one time up to 5 sites. A good understanding of architectural and engineering processes within house building is essential. This position will report directly to the Technical Director.

Role and Responsibilities;
• Produce site plans, boundary treatment drawings, materials plan/schedules, fire tracking and strategy drawings, deed plans and setting out drawings.
• Provide detailed information where not readily available, updating and issuing working drawings.
• Submission of all information to NHBC and obtaining necessary approvals, obtaining SAP assessments, Secured by Design Approval and Robust Standard Details.
• Obtaining and collating all ancillary specialist drawings including hot water supply, heating, kitchen, stair, wardrobes, lintels, pcc ground and intermediate floors.
• Attending pre-start meetings and briefing all departments on matters related to the working drawings.
• Co-ordinate information and liaise with external architects, civil and structural engineers and landscape architects, discharging planning conditions where necessary.
• Attend site meetings as required and resolve all site related queries arising from these meetings and from normal daily discussion with site and commercial team.
• Liaise with Housing Associations, attend meetings, snagging and provide handover information.
• Assist with all departments with technical queries.
• Organising topographical surveys, site investigation reports, arboricultural and ecological surveys, structural, civil and highways engineers, sap assessors and acoustic consultant reports.
• Liaising with the project architect and managing delivering a working drawing package, including plans, elevations, sections, detailing boundary treatments, electrical and lighting layouts.
• Discharging planning conditions with the help of the above consultants.
• Preparing and updating planning trackers.
• Submissions to and dealing with queries from Building Control Authorities, whether LABC, NHBC or an Approved Inspector.
• Robust detail registration.
• Coordinating with the design team, revising and issuing drawings as necessary.
• Dealing with RFI’s and site queries.
• Attending site meetings, preparation of minutes and agendas, although these have been signed off by the Technical Director
• Liaising with and involving the Technical Director and Engineering Manager throughout.

To be considered for this position, you must have at least 2-3 years’ experience in a similar role, ideally working for another house builder or residential developer. The ability to oversee house types and layouts via external consultants is essential. In order to make a success of this role, you must possess excellent communication skills both written and verbal, strong organisational skills and the proficiency in AutoCAD.

In return, a competitive salary is being offered up to £55,000 plus package.
