One of the UK’s top ten House Builders is recruiting for a qualified Architect to join their West Midlands region on a permanent basis.
The person they appoint will produce both sketch layouts as well as CAD based layouts through to full planning applications and discharge of subsequent planning conditions, to produce technical information to ensure compliance with Building Control and The Code for Sustainable Homes. Residential developments will range from 50-700 units. The successful candidate will report to the Technical Director and will work closely with other departments on all design aspects.
Additional duties will include the development appraisals on multiple sites, detailed planning applications, the investigations of any technical problems encountered and provision of economical and viable solutions. This will involve liaison with internal departments within the company as well as Local Authority, Planning and Building Control / NHBC and Code for Sustainable Homes Assessors.
The successful candidate will be given full responsibility and be accountable for the Architectural team, managing the Architectural department in all aspects of the varied workload. You will be involved in the production of both presentation and construction information to ensure design concepts are communicated and implemented accurately. The Architectural department is involved with the companies product from inception through to completion.
This position would suit a qualified Architect with experience of working directly for a residential developer or an architectural practice who work within residential development. Proficiency in producing sketch layouts by hand or straight onto CAD for varying sizes of schemes is essential. You must be a qualified Architect through RIBA or ARB.
