A highly successful, national house builder is recruiting for a Landscape Designer to join their East Midlands region located in Derbyshire on a permanent basis.
As a Landscape Designer, you will produce landscape proposals for residential developments to enhance the built environment and to fulfil planning requirements. You will be expected to design hard and soft landscaping for the open spaces between and around their new homes, as well as show home gardens and sales areas, to meeting planning requirements, budgets and technical specifications.
You will liaise with Landscape Officers on planning related matters when required. Visit development sites to perform landscape audits, amend landscape drawings as required, produce budget costs for landscape operations and attend meetings that may be necessary in the performance of your duties.
To be considered for this position you must hold a BA in Landscape Architecture or similar. Experience working for a house builder / developer or landscape architectural practice would be advantageous. In particular you will need to have a good knowledge of plants and horticulture, and a full UK driving licence. It is important you are familiar with planning policy and applications, fully up to speed with relevant design and office software. Excellent design skills, personal organisation and team working will go hand-in-hand with tact, diplomacy and excellent interpersonal skills. Finally, a knowledge of Building Regulations and Health & Safety requirements would be a distinct advantage.
