The Lighthouse Club charity provides financial and emotional support to the construction community.
We attended an exciting and productive meeting with one of our clients this week and we were really pleased to find out that they use the Light House Club in conjunction with their mental health / well-being policy in the workplace. We have made a small donation to the Lighthouse Club as they don’t receive any public funding and it is fantastic to see the help and support they offer to professionals in the industry.
Taylor Herrick Recruitment are committed to help raise awareness of mental health in the construction industry, we want to remove any stigma’s attached to mental health issues. It is a shocking statistic of how many fatalities occur in construction due to mental health issues that go unnoticed.

Our Director, Natalie wants to ensure the team fully understand how mental health is affected in the workplace. Natalie offers the team training around identification and coping methods. We have a well-being and mental health board in our offices so that it is perceived as open and transparent and something that we are encouraged to talk about.
We also have a mental health toolkit so that the team and management have a ‘go to’ point of reference for help and support.
Natalie encourages her team to have a break away from computer screens at lunch and to go out and have a walk or if we would like to exercise / attend the gym at lunch we are allowed to take a longer lunch break.
We are also introducing a monthly well-being team newsletter and we hope to organise a few sporting team events throughout the year.
