The first ever Green Mortgage is here!
One of our clients is working with Barclays Bank to launch the first ever green mortgage.
It’s great to see that a leading House builder is working to be more energy efficient and giving people the option of leading a sustainable lifestyle. Ever since the 5p charge to use a plastic carrier bags was introduced, the UK has opened its eyes to a more greener way of life. Now most bars and restaurants are choosing alternatives to plastic straws, switching to paper ones. Some people are even popping a metal straw into their bag and using that while they are out. This really shows that people are jumping on the sustainable steam train.
It’s amazing to hear that all new Barratt Homes have new green features, such as, “modern double glazing fitted with argon gas, insulation in the walls which is six times more efficient than that used in the 1960s, and the latest boilers which keep water hotter for longer.” This scheme really has a lot of benefits; helping the environment and saving new home buyers money on their bills.
According to thisismoney.co.uk “46,522 new electric and plug-in hybrid cars were bought in the UK in 2017 and Currently, there are around 130,000 electrified vehicles on UK roads.
It is getting ever increasingly popular to purchase an electric or plug-in hybrid car, so why not purchase an energy efficient home too!
We can see this green mortgage scheme really catching on and becoming available to all of the UK very soon.
