About this job

Personal Advisor sought for temporary to permanent role based in Liverpool.

Main purpose of job:

To engage and work with clients to develop their skills and qualifications in order to increase their employability level and progress them into employment


Key Internal

· Reportable to sector lead

· Work with the adult employability team

· Work with sales and marketing team

Key External

· Liaise with Job Centre Plus, Next Step, Jets, and other external agencies

· Work with employers, subcontractors and awarding body professionals

Main tasks of job:

· Ensure success against individual, team and overall targets and objectives of Scientiam Business Plan

· Ensure that all paperwork complies with funding/awarding body requirements

· Giving information advice and guidance to individuals to evaluate the opportunities available

· Ensuring learners and colleagues are aware of the most up-to-date sources of information

· Referring learners onto training and Apprenticeship programmes

· Providing a recruitment service and helping with job search activities

· Helping learners to identify their targets and writing a plan of action with them and reviewing this regularly

· Research into opportunities and production of information and guidance materials.

· Conduct purposeful job search activity on a individual group search basis

· Cold calling - identification of jobs within the hidden market

· Conduct exit interviews and track learners offering additional support as per contractual ‘job outcome’ requirements

· Recording all information on Scientiam database and central tracking system

· Undertake marketing activity with key stakeholders

· To keep learners on programme up to date on health and safety and ensure all relevant paperwork is completed in a timely manner

· Any other duties that may be required from time to time

Essential qualifications:

· Teaching qualification level 3 or above

· Numeracy Level 2

· Literacy Level 2

Essential Skills:

· Ability to manage a caseload of learners

· Work under pressure, use initiative, meet deadlines and persevere

· Work on own and as part of a team

· Good negotiation skills

· Excellent communication skills – written and verbal

· Work flexibly in line with needs of the business

Salary circa £18,000 - £25,000 depending on experience.

Applicants must have a full driving license and their own transport and travel between branches is required.
